IPv6 support - Knogle - 2026-02-01

Ahoy, hope you doing fine.
Many folks are only capable of having public facing IPv6 prefixes due to CGNAT, or any other kind of NATting in private address space.
Therefore IPv6 support would be a nice thing to have, due to increasing use of IPv6 for services.

It is typically rare (and probably unadvisable) for someone to host a OMP server from their home network, I certainly would not recommend it. It tends to attract bad actors and there's a book to be written about denial of service attacks (amidst other types) in the SA-MP server ownership circle alone.

That being said I do agree IPv6 should be supported, simply because it is the modern protocol.

I'm currently done with the SA-MP MySQL Open.MP rework so i would like to take a look into this topic. What are the challenges to expect for this one? I think SA-MP isn't made for IPv6, or don't we have any restrictions to consider?
