You say that, but that is literally the whole point of php `<php` and `?>` tags
The whole concept is built around the idea that php can be used inside and outside html.
I've used php for over 8 years and only in the last 2 years moved away from it (so I know what you mean)

I am very aware that php was built for that, but do you really think that code like this is good practice in this era? xD

Full-stack webdeveloper, specialized on backend development.
You also have to remember that I am not a web developer of any sort (fullstack, backend, frontend, whatever). This was something I made to fulfil the needs of my server when it was running.
If you want to fix all the backend code, you're more than welcome to make a pull request.
