What got you into SA-MP and now open.mp?

I'm kinda new around here and just started diving into open.mp after messing around with SA-MP back in the day.
I’m curious—what got you into SA-MP originally, and what made you stick around or switch to open.mp? Was it a specific server, a cool script, or just the fun of making custom game modes?
Would love to hear your stories or experiences, especially from those who've been around for a while. Maybe even drop your favorite memory from any server you've been on?

Like you, I'm browsing this forum for the same reason. I started playing SAMP around 2009, then swiftly found servers like SARP, NGRP, LSRP, and RCRP, and never played anything else for years. There are plenty of memories and lately I’ve been aching for them to come back. The longing hasn’t let up.
